January 2008
For seven years, Bill has performed his CCC program at dozens of libraries, community concerts, state parks and other venues across the country. His presentation touches the hearts and minds of both the young and old. Over three and half million young men enrolled in the CCC during The Great Depression. People with dads or brothers in the program are still grateful for the money that was sent home to their families – it kept many of them from starving!

What makes Bill's program special?

Great Stories. Bill has interviewed hundreds of CCC Boys since 1992!

Video. A short clip from his PBS film CAMP FORGOTTEN brings the CCC to life!

Music.  Songs always bring a smile to a person's face!

Participation. Bill invites CCC Boys in the audience to speak up!

Knowledge. Bill is a historian, he customizes his presentations to each state he visits!

Fun. When you put 200 teenagers in a work camp - there are bound to be some funny stories!

To celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the CCC, Bill has released a new CD of twelve original songs! The CD is an excellent companion to the book with many songs based on events that occurred in the book.

Librarian Comments:
"The turnout was fantastic (80 people) and there were many positive comments. Great Job!  Margaret Boyle, Peter White Library, Marquette MI

Bill played to a packed house including a dozen children that sat up front – it was entertaining and informative – not a boring moment!  Jane Diesing, Manistee (MI) County Library"

CCC Officials Comments:
"Bill's program is terrific – he really knows the CCC and we've enjoyed having him present at three of our national conventions including our latest at Cumberland Falls State Park in Kentucky."  Walter Atwood, President, National Association of CCC Alumni

"As an ardent student of CCC history, Bill transforms research and oral accounts into a context that listeners of all ages can visualize and understand. Passing the CCC legacy to future generations is the mission of our organization. Bill's mission to educate through entertainment sparks the imagination and memories of the multigenerational audience.  He nurtures the CCC story wherever he performs."
Joan Sharpe, President, CCC Legacy, Edinburg, VA
